Created in 1946 and at the origin of the introduction of plasterboard in France, the company Placoplatre is today the leader on the French plaster and insulation market. It designs innovative and high-performance solutions for construction professionals and individuals.

Since 2005, Placoplatre has belonged to the Saint-Gobain group, itself a world leader in the habitat sector.

From the extraction of raw materials to the distribution of finished products, Placoplatre acts as a responsible industrialist and pays special attention to the environmental impact of its sites, transport and support infrastructures. The FRET21 agreement is therefore perfectly in line with the company's sustainability policy, which has made the preservation of the environment a major priority. It is the natural extension of an approach initiated more than twenty years ago to limit the environmental impact of its activities.

The actions carried out by Placoplatre as part of the FRET21 commitment concern 80% of the transport carried out in France from the production sites, whether for customer deliveries or inter-site transport.

That is:

  • about 80,000 trucks/year
  • 120 carriers
  • transport with an average distance of 225 km
