Founded in 1937 in Milan, MAPEI is today the world leader in adhesives and chemical construction mortars.

Established for 30 years in Toulouse (Saint-Alban), MAPEI France has 3 production plants, 1 Research and Development laboratory and 3 Quality Control laboratories. With more than 300 employees, the company achieved a gross turnover of 93 million euros in 2018.

MAPEI France is certified ISO 14001 (Toulouse Saint-Alban), ISO 9001 and BS OHSAS 18001.

Product quality, the health and well-being of users and respect for the environment are MAPEI's development priorities. In 2019, MAPEI France is continuing its approach to sustainability and is committed to reducingCO2 emissions from its transport activities by joining the FRET 21 programme. MAPEI France is thus the first manufacturer of industrial mortars to sign this agreement.

Product quality, the health and well-being of users and respect for the environment are MAPEI's development priorities. MAPEI has always been committed to sustainability, from the design of the product to its use. More than an image factor, it is a fundamental pillar of our philosophy, our corporate culture and our responsibility as an industrial company. FRET21 is further proof of our commitment to the environment. It is also a great corporate project around which the MAPEI France teams, including R&D, supply chain, production and purchasing, are mobilized!

MAPEI France is also the first manufacturer of industrial mortars to sign this agreement.

Established on 3 sites, MAPEI France delivers nearly 200,000 T per year (inter-site flows and customer delivery flows). MAPEI France has joined forces with AUTF and ADEME in order to go further on environmental issues and to commit to its freight transport activities.

Through the signed agreement, MAPEI commits to reduce by 10% over 3 years the greenhouse gases emitted by transport and thus allow a reduction of more than 500 T of CO2 each year.

In order to achieve this ambitious objective, MAPEI France will implement various actions:

Improvement of filling rates

  • Revision of the customer delivery plan to promote batch groupings

Reduction of distances travelled

  • Production optimization: redefinition of production allocations between plants in order to manufacture as close as possible to needs and raw materials.
  • Implementation of an inter-site transport plan on fixed days with loops or triangular routes to reduce empty kilometres.

More virtuous means of transport

  • Developing combined road-rail transport for full trucks in long-distance areas

Purchase of services

  • Encourage the selection of service providers committed to the environment (chartered or labelled "Objective CO2").
