On the occasion of the first eco-responsible transport and logistics event, which took place on September 19 at the Cité Universitaire in Paris, the Renault group was rewarded for its commitment to the system FRET21 and received the trophy for the best performance.

Committed to FRET21 a three-year period (2015 - 2017), the Renault group's Supply Chain will reduce its emissions by nearly 9% on its logistics activities in Europe by the end of 2017, for an initial commitment set at 7%.

At the time, the Renault group was one of the top 10 companies volunteering to reduce GHG emissions from their transport and logistics activities. The company chose to commit to a European scope and defined 8 emission reduction actions in the following areas:

  • Optimisation, i.e. increasing the filling rate of the means and reducing the number of kilometres/m3 travelled.
  • The reduction of fuel consumption for the transport of its goods (challenging transporters on their consumption).
  • The use of multimodal transport: favouring rail and maritime transport.

As an extension of this approach, the Renault group intends to continue its commitment to the system FRET21 and is currently preparing its action plan for the next three years.
