The world reference for small domestic equipment
The world leader in Small Household Equipment, Groupe SEB deploys its business through a portfolio of 29 emblematic brands (Tefal, Seb, Rowenta, Moulinex, Krups, Lagostina, All-Clad, WMF, Emsa, Supor, etc.), marketed through multi-format distribution. Selling some 300 million products a year, it implements a long-term strategy based on innovation, international development, competitiveness and customer service. Present in 150 countries, Groupe SEB achieved sales of 6.5 billion euros in 2017 and employs more than 33,000 people.

Why has Groupe SEB joined the FRET21 initiative (reasons for the commitment and the added value of the system)?

Because Groupe SEB takes the environmental impact of its business very seriously, joining the signatories of FRET 21 is a concrete way of formalizing its commitments to limit the impact of transport on the climate. Alongside mobilized and voluntary industrial companies, Groupe SEB has thus defined objectives in the four areas identified by FRET 21 in terms of eco-logistics

How does this approach fit in with the Group's CSR policy?

With more than 200 million products sold each year worldwide, Groupe SEB has a duty to limit the impact of its products on the environment as much as possible. The transport of products, as well as the raw materials and components used to make them, is a major source of greenhouse gas emissions for Groupe SEB, which has set itself the target of reducing them by 20% by 2020. By the end of 2017, the objective has already been achieved, with a 25% reduction.

What is the scope of Groupe SEB's commitment to FRET21 ?

Initially, this commitment concerns the Groupe SEB France subsidiary. Efforts are focused on four areas to improve product import and distribution flows.

The actions carried out in 2017 have led to the following progress:

  • Increase of the Filling Rate of transport units
  • Increase in the number of direct deliveries to European customers from our logistics platforms or factories without going through intermediate storage facilities
  • Progress of alternative modes of transport to road (rail, etc.)
  • Raise the awareness of our transport partners to reduce their carbon impact by adhering to the Charte ObjectifCO2 (set up in 2016 by the French Ministry of Transport and ADEME).

Within the Supply Chain Department, a team dedicated to eco-logistics coordinates all the Group's actions in France and internationally to ensure that objectives are met. It relies on the Logistics Managers of the industrial sites and commercial subsidiaries to increase the number of actions taken and thus reduce our environmental footprint.

in 2021, Groupe SEB re-engages in the FRET21
